Item Description:
This is an original black and white wood engraving and from the text it describes the scene as having occurred in front of Colonel Henry Page's office in Little Rock, Arkansas. From the date, it could be assumed this is the 57th United States Colored Troops. In May 1866, the Fifty-seventh USCT was ordered back to Little Rock after members of Companies B and H briefly mutinied against orders to join an expedition to New Mexico Territory with the Third U.S. Cavalry. The print was published in Harper's Weekly Newspaper in 1866. It measures 9" x 14" with wide margins, perfect for framing. At nearly a hundred fifty years old, this engaging original print is highly displayable. Antiqueprintopia only sells original antique prints and they always come with a
