BUTTERFLY/MOTH/UNMOUNTED Huge Wings ATTACUS ATLAS MOTHS
This is a lot of wings from Attacus atlas moths from Indonesia, for use in artwork.  The moths vary in size from 4" to 6" and both forewings and hindwings are included--about 2 to 3 total moths.  They're huge! They were harvested from specimens which were damaged in transit, and individual wings range from A1 to A-, and may have chips, tears, or missing scales. They are NOT matched pairs. Shown is a sample lot; yours may vary but will be similar.  Spread moth is for example only.
U.S. sales only.  I do NOT ship any specimens outside the United States.  Please do not ask!
The specimens up for auction are dehydrated and are in envelopes.  They will need to be rehydrated to be mounted.  Please email for instructions if you do not know how to do this.  The wings alone can be used in artwork.
It might surprise you to learn that butterfly collecting actually helps the Earth's ecology since it allows local people to raise butterflies to support their families, giving them an incentive to maintain the rainforests and jungles! Butterflies live only a short time, and mate immediately after emerging from their chrysalis. The female lays eggs as quickly as possible on the plant preferred by the species--if those plants are kept available!
My insects are imported under permit issued by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Please be aware that this permit is required to bring insects into the United States, including butterflies and moths. Not all foreign sellers will tell you this.

hipping charges are calculated for U.S. destinations only.  International shipping is very expensive--please ask for shipping charges BEFORE bidding if you do not have a U.S.  address!  Butterflies, moths, and other insects will NOT be shipped outside the U.S. due to Federal laws.  Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility; please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
