Shaw American Pottery 1946 Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Iconic Ceramic Set that beautifully captures the wonderful relationship between the giggling Mickey Mouse who will go through incredible rigors in order to win the favor of his true love, Minnie Mouse!
As Walt Disney said, “It All Started With A Mouse” and this special set by Evan K. Shaw American Pottery of Mickey & Minnie Mouse beautifully captures the personalities that Walt Disney created!
Here you see the iconic pose of Mickey Mouse with his hands behind his back carrying a bouquet of flowers for Minnie who leans on a sweep broom as she looks over her shoulder with a shy and admiring gaze. In this pose, you almost feel as if you can see Minnie’s eyes rapidly blink with her eyebrows fluttering in adoration.
This “ultimate set" of Mickey & Minnie Mouse is in Excellent Condition with no chips, cracks or breaks, with little visible crazing. The colors on these special figures are still bright & vivid. Mickey Mouse retains his full oval American Pottery label. Minnie has no label. Mickey Stands 6” Tall, Minnie Stands 6 1/4” Tall
Mickey & Minnie Mouse are in Excellent Condition for being about 75 YEARS OLD!
American Pottery was founded by Evan K. Shaw who was a former Vernon Kilns employee. During the period of 1943 through 1955, Evan K. Shaw created the largest ceramics outfit in the Los Angeles area under many different Company names and Disney Licenses including Metlox and The American Pottery Company. Evan K. Shaw's American Pottery signed its first contract with Disney on February 4, 1943.
Shaw/American Pottery figures are known for their details, expressions and quality. Shaw & American Pottery had their own Mold Makers. The Disney Studios would provide model sheets to be followed for each design. Once Shaw/American Pottery came up with a new concept, it would have to be approved by the Disney Studio artists and the Disney licensing division before any production could begin.
We found these beautiful Evan K.
