    Description

This is a near perfect example of a completely original Helmet of H. M. the Queen's Mounted Bodyguard of the Household Cavalry, The Blues and Royals Regiment.
It is in superb condition, the post 1953 original vintage issue, worn and used for over 70 years and remains the current pattern.  This one is in such good condition it could still be suitable for service at the Palace.  The Albert helmet is the current ceremonial headgear of the British Army's Household Cavalry, the Life guards regiment and the Blues and Royals regiment.  It was introduced by Prince Albert in 1842 and adopted by the Household Cavalry the following year.  In 1847 the helmet was introduced to all heavy cavalry regiments.  It remains in use as the full dress headgear of the two remaining Household Cavalry regiments - the Blues and royals and the Life Guards (with a white plume).
This unit is completely authenticated by the premier militaria dealer in England...The Lanes Armoury.  Questions welcome, no dissapointments.
