THIS KIT INCLUDES A SPECIALLY DESIGNED SUPER SHARP MODERN BLADE FOR YOUR 4000/3600+ MACHINE. TO USE THE ORIGINAL BLADE WOULD BE LIKE CUTTING A TOMATO WITH THE BACK EDGE OF THE KNIFE. THE KNIFES ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT BENDS TO CREATE THE BEST VORTEX FOR ALL TYPES OF BLENDING. THE 8 KNIFES WILL ALSO BLEND DRY GRAINS AND MAKE GREAT

The 3600/4000 machines are great machines, they were the last of the 100% USA built machines. They are over 30 years old and still high powered great running machines. Unfortunately just like the newer machines, the blades and bearings wear out. There are two problems, first Vitamix discontinued the stainless containers and blades. There are no more new blades out there for your machine, the only ones I see anymore are used and in a old container that is over 30 years old. The second, Vitamix reversed the drives (male-female) from the 4000 3600 Plus series to all of the modern machines and reversed the blade direction. The new blades/bearing are also heavier duty and larger in diameter.  I realize it is not cheap, but keep in mind back 20 years ago when you could still purchase a replacement blade from Vitamix, the blade only was back then.With this fix your machine is going to be blending again for another +30 years.
