    Description

This listing is for 25 dead honeybee specimens. These honeybees are collected from our family owned apiary in Jacksonville Florida.
Honey bees routinely die and fall to the edges of his hive boxes. They are then stored in the freezer from that point until we ship them. They are inspected for good condition, though antennae will sometimes break off in shipping and we do not guarantee antennae to arrive intact for this reason (we do send a few extras to help cover losses). Honeybees dry out rather quickly and that in combination with their being frozen, and their generally hard bodies (exoskeleton) allows them to retain an appearance almost exactly as it was in life, and just like you see in well-preserved insects collection that are hundreds of years old. Yes, they might retain a life-like appearance beyond the life of the paint or other materials you might use along with them in a painting or other work of art.
The Earthwatch Institute in Boston just declared the bee the most important species on the planet, get yours today! :)
