    Description

Here's a 4 7/8" x 7.25", period, hand-colored engraving and poem of a wife and her two children at home, while her Civil War soldier husband fights for victory.  We don't think the image on the wall is of that of her husband since few families then could have afforded such a painting.  Since the likeness is similar to that of Ulysses Grant, we are voting for that. Whadda you think? Additionally, we find it unusual that the daughter is in a dress, yet rigged-up as a soldier with epaulettes, hat, fake gun, sash and sword. Women's lib? This would look great matted into one of those deep-walnut, period frames that one can often find at your local flea market. This is in nice condition but please enlarge our images to judge this for yourself so you can be happy with it. You can see that the back has glue marks from having been affixed into a souvenir album. Remember, this stuff's called ephemera, folks, because it was produced to be used and then discarded.  So we're just happy to have things like this for our collections in any condition.  If they hadn't have saved it in that album, it likely would even exist today.
We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases.
Shipping on this will be .50, carefully packed, first class with tracking.
