Bug Mount Shadow Box. Beetle In Handmade Ornate Victorian Frame w/ Swarovski. Condition is "New". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
I found this bug in the wild, in Thailand.  He had shiny, iridescent purple/blue/green wings. I thought he was pretty and decided to turn him into art. So he's mounted into this shadow box with two Swarovski crystal butterflies, just for company.
Update: just learned it is a Tropical Carpenter Bee, native to Southeast Asia. Which is where I found it!
The shadow box is glass and wood. The scroll embellishments were hand cast with epoxy clay and attached by me. Each piece was hand mixed, pressed into a silicone mould, let harden a few days, popped out of the mould, sanded and shaped, attached to the wood frame front, and painted. The frame is painted dark green, and the scrollwork I did in purple / silver.
The piece measures 6"x6"x1.5."  Purple and green framework accent the colors of the insect. Pretty.
