VTG 1800s Lot of 2 New York Club Engraved Poker Checks Chips Acorn

Here I have 2 (1 Ivory & 1 Blue)
“
NEW YORK CLUB
ENGRAVED POKER CHECKS”
(Poker Chips)
apparently from the late 19
th
century.
I have researched quite a bit and cannot find any information on these checks.
I am providing both Scans and Photos to show the best detail of these very cool Poker Checks.
I do not know what these are made of but from looking at the sides (See Photos) they appear to have been made in 2 layers.
I am including a scan of the label on the box but

as the box with label is staying in my personal collection.
I am presenting the scan of the box label to help try to show the origin of these Checks / Chips.
