These were my grandfather's chips and case. He was quite a poker and bridge guy! (You should see his poker table!) The chips were swapped out and the "Plain" chips were in it. I had the boxes for those, so I put the Embossed Steeplechase Jockey Chips in the case and the plain ones into their boxes. (Separate listing here if interested.) Research says the steeplechase jockey chips are older than the U.S. Plain Chips. They're certainly prettier. I don't know if the case came with chips, but I think not. The case is in extraordinary condition. I've photographed the two corners with a teeny bit of wear on the leather. The dovetailed drawers are exquisite. There are four boxes of playing cards included, but I think those were stuck in there much later. Grandfather died in 1957 and they say 1983. Two are unopened, but they're Hoyle and Bicycle, so probably no great shakes. Just a little bonus! There are about 230 chips in the case. Collectors will know best. Feel free to educate me!
