Description
This WW2 British Army MKII "Brodie" Steel Combat Helmet, Liner & Khaki Chin Strap are in good condition overall but does show signs of age, service and storage. The multiple layers of green paint that have been applied have made it difficult to find any of this helmet's original markings, however the liner is marked "J.C.S. & W. LTD 1940" and appears to be a size 7. Of note, upon close inspection I believe I can detect traces of glue securing the liner to the helmet. There is a faint number inscribed on the interior dome section of the helmet but it is very difficult to read. Also of interest, there is an inscription written in red on the rim of the interior and it appears to read "C/14," it could possibly be a unit marking but I am uncertain. The khaki chin strap does show age and wear but still has significant elasticity and is securely held in place. The exterior of this helmet shows no less than two thick layers of green paint, some of which is actively cracking and flaking off. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
